Mohawk pitcher Adyson Evans was 3-for-4 from the plate with two runs batted in to lead Mason City. The Mohawks drop to 0-3 and will host Dowling on Friday for a doubleheader. MASON CITY — 3rd-ranked Newman moved to 2-0 on the season as they beat 7th-ranked Alburnett 9-3 in a matchup of Class 1A ranked teams last night in Mason City, as you heard on AM-1300 KGLO and kgloam.com. Jacob Nelson pitched four innings for the Knights, striking out three, while Nash Holmgaard pitched the other three innings, striking out three.
