New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday filed a second chargesheet in Delhi court against self-proclaimed godman Virender Dev Dixit, in a case where he had allegedly raped a minor girl multiple times at his ashrams, officials here said. The probe agency has charged Dixit under the relevant subsections of Section 376 of the IPC, including subsection (2)(f), which deals with the rape of a minor girl under the age of 12. This particular case was registered by the CBI on January 3 last year, based on an order from the High Court of Delhi. The complainant in the case had alleged that in the months of May and June in 1999, Dixit, who claimed to be a spiritual teacher had raped her at two of his ashrams in Rohini’s Vijay Vihar area and Kampil, a small town in Uttar Pradesh’s Farrukhabad district. In this recent chargesheet, the self-proclaimed harbinger of spirituality was also charged with criminal intimidation in the case, where investigation is ongoing. Dixit is currently being probed by the CBI in three separate cases registered by the probe agency on orders from the Delhi High Court. The federal agency had earlier filed a chargesheet against him on October 3, 2018, naming 59 female inmates of his ashrams. Sources in the know said that CBI had received some inputs about Dikshit’s possible sightings in Nepal, adding that he has one ashram in the neighbouring country as well. Subsequently, the investigative agency, through Interpol had issued one Blue Corner Notice (BCN) on March 26, 2018, and two Look Out Notices on January 22, 2018, and February 21, 2018, respectively. The case first came to light when the Delhi Commission for Women had in co-ordinated raids with the Delhi Police rescued over 40 girls from one of Dixit’s ashrams called Adhyatmik Vishwavidyalya in Rohini. In documents accessed by Millennium Post, the ashram in Rohini described minor girls as “kumaris (maidens)” who are meant to become “servants of the world”. The 77-year-old godman has two Non-Bailable Warrants issued against him at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrates’ court in Rohini. Sources here had told earlier that CBI has put up notices on the gates of all of Dikshit’s ashrams in Delhi and efforts to apprehend him are in full force.
